Spring

So now that it is Spring time, I am taking every opportunity I can to be outside! I have been working out in the yard at least one day every weekend and boy do I have some wicked tan lines. Oh well, I just love being outside!! This weekend, the weather was perfect so we went to Kemah with Kellen and Megan and went for a stroll on the boardwalk and then out on the boat! It was wonderful but I may have had one too many bloody mary's because when we got home, I was sick! Anyways, I can't wait to go back to Kemah and ride some of the rides. I love that stuff. Below are some pics....

Earlier this week, Chris and I went to an Astros game! It was fun to get out during the week but it makes me so tired the next day. But who am I kidding, I'm always tired! 

Hmmm...what else to talk about? 

Oh! I think I finally have Chris talked in to buying our dining room set! It's taken me forever but I think I may have won him over. SO this prob sounds a little dumb but let me give you some background info on the situation.  When we moved into this house, his parents gave us all of this furniture/etc. to use until we got our own. Well....that translates into : Ashleigh hates all of this old furniture and wants it to be replaced as soon as possible! I would rather the dining room be empty than have what is in it now! Trust me...You would too! Maybe I'll post a pic of this ugly table later. So, how did I finally get Chris to break in? We were on the boat and I was telling Kellen and Megan about this horrific table when Kellen said, "Just get a new one Chris so you don't have to hear about it anymore and you can buy a boat!" Works for me! So our compromise is that he is allowed a boat after I get my dining room set!!!!! We'll see how soon this happens! But seriously, we have all this China and Crystal and it's all stored in a closet. That's no fun!

Well....I gotta get ready for the week but one last thought! I went to the grocery store this morning and saved $37.76 with coupons! I have gotten into the extreme coupon show and so I tried couponing  just to see if I could save enough to make it worth it and I did! Almost 40 bucks!!! The girl at the store said to me, "Go head, gurfriend". Now can I do the extreme couponing, NO! I would have to quit my job for that but I'm all for the $37.76 I saved! Whoop Whoop! :)

Around Houston

So since I'm not traveling back and forth to Mississippi near as much anymore, Chris and I have been able to enjoy Houston a little more and actually do things! Where do I begin?

Amy and Lane got married 2 weekends ago and I got to go back to MS! It was fun going back even though Chris had to stay in Houston :(. Seems like we always have to separate for weddings. Anyways, the wedding was beautiful and very sweet. Everything was so dainty and pretty and Amy was gorge!!!

Then it was back to Houston and back to work. The next weekend my Mom finally came to visit! It was so great having her here and see how we live. It is a totally different world here and it was fun to take Mom around to see it all. I think she was overwhelmed by all the highways and interstates. Houston is definitely a concrete jungle! Oh, did I mention that in between all this Chris has been making me patio furniture and I have been painting it? He made 2 adirondack chairs, a table, and a bench! He's getting so handy! Here are some pics of our patio...I'm still working on pillows for the chairs so it's not completely finished.

Today we went to the Houston Zoo. It was part of Chris' birthday present so we spent the day there! So much fun and I loved going downtown and exploring! Here are some pics from the Zoo expedition!

Honeymoon

Okay... so I am just now posting some pics from our honeymoon. I know, I know....it's been a month and a half but better late than never! Also, if you know me, which you should if you are reading this, I hardly took any pictures so what you see is what you get! I am so bad about taking pictures. I wish I had someone that would just follow me around to document important events in my life but you know...no paparazzi here! Done babbling now.... Enjoy!

So I haven't posted any pics from the wedding so I will now! Becca sent me a disc full of pics she took (Thanks Beccs!) and thats really all I have until the photographer sends me my disc of all 700ish pics she took. (How am I going to get through all of those?) SO...here are a couple of my favorites that Becca took...

Where do I begin?

Well, needless to say, it has been a while since I have posted anything! SO here I go! I don't even know where I left off so I will just start rambling. Wheeeww.....wedding is over! I have mixed feelings about it being gone. So happy that all the planning and paying and stress is over but on the other hand, it all went by way too fast! Now, we are trying to readjust to work and having our life back! No more driving 10 hours back and forth almost every other weekend! I do have to go back to Tupelo at some point though and get all of our gifts/ registry stuff straightened out. That should be just delightful! (Sarcasm) Anywho, so after the wedding, we went to Riviera Maya, Mexico and it was AMAZING! But after day 3, I was ready to come back and get into the swing of things. It was almost stressful not having stress. I kept wondering what was going on...weird I know! So we came back to Houston where Chris' parents had come and brought all the wedding presents they could fit and I unpacked and put up for 3 days. The dining room is still a HOT MESS and I have nowhere to put my China and crystal because Chris doesn't think a new dining room set is necessary right now! Ugh...men! I hate....wait, thats too nice....DESPISE the table we have now! It is circa 1970 and not vintage or antique, just plain old! What am I going to do with this stupid thing. Ok, enough about the table, moving on to something better.

I went back to work this week after being off for a week and a half and it was a lot harder than I thought it would be. Not to mention there is a girl at work that only works part time, that is a completely dreadful person. She is so mean to me for no reason. I am finally learning to let it go and ignore her but I just don't understand why some people are mean and rude to people that are so nice to them! Get over yourself! Next topic or my BP may start to rise again!

Chris and I have decided that for the next 6 months, we are going to try and save, save, save! I thought this would be easy with the wedding being over and all but when we wrote out our list of all expenses going on....it will be HARD. I think we counted up 6 or 7 weddings to go to, buy presents for, etc, as well as birthdays in the family, I need a new phone (mine has shattered once again!), and traveling. It all adds up so dang fast!

Well, I will try to write more soon and keep up better but I make no promises! I'm off to write thank you notes!
